Ocean City Emergency Services

Ocean City Fire/EMS

The Fire/EMS Division of the Ocean City Department of Emergency Services provides pre-hospital emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland. In addition to EMS, the division works with Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company to provide fire suppression and rescue services.

The Fire/EMS Division staff consists of 31 full-time paramedic/firefighters, 33 part-time EMS provider/firefighters, and 11 command staff officers (5 lieutenants, 5 second lieutenants and a Division Captain).  Supporting the Fire/EMS Division is the Administrative Office Associate for the Department of Emergency Services.

The Fire/EMS Division responds to about 5000 calls each year--many of which occur during the busy summer season. The Fire/EMS Division has a fleet of 9 advanced life support ambulances, 3 command vehicles, a Paramedic Engine and a special operations trailer.  Fire/EMS response vehicles and personnel are housed at fire stations throughout Ocean City.  The Fire/EMS Division was awarded the Maryland Seal of Excellence by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS)
